How to provide syntax color highlighting for Zend Framework templates
View files or templates are what make V in MVC. Having proper syntax color highlighting available for the view templates is instrumental for the productivity of PHP developer working with any of PHP Frameworks. Luckily, PhpED can work with pretty much all of the known template files and handles Zend Framework .phtml template files right out of the box:
To get the proper syntax color highlighting for any of the files you can set associated handler for the template file in Tools->Settings->Associations menu of PhpED. As you can see, by default .phtml files are associated with PHP5 and therefore get the appropriate syntax color highlighting, code folding and other PHP IDE features:
It is also worth noting that quite often Zend Framework is used with Smarty templates, which are also fully supported in PhpED.
